What is the advantage of CBCT data being interpreted by a board certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist?

Since knowledge of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is essential for accurate diagnosis and the success of any treatment plan, a thorough understanding of the anatomy and pathology of oral and maxillofacial structures is critical. Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists undergo extensive training to develop the skills necessary to integrate and synthesize basic science and clinical knowledge, applying this expertise to the radiographic diagnosis of the maxillofacial region. As a result, many practices routinely have all CBCT scans reviewed by a radiologist to reduce the risk of overlooking significant findings.

There are several important reasons to have your CBCT volumes reviewed. Our radiologists can assist you by:

  • Identifying lesions, including occult pathology

  • Providing comprehensive reports of all positive findings

  • Offering expert second opinions

  • Addressing questions and concerns with clarity and precision
